Took the FiST to the drag strip this evening to see what all the mods could accomplish. Now keep in mind this was my first time drag racing and since I've only been driving stick for a few months these times could be drastically improved. Only got 2 runs in before a civic blew up and covered the track in oil and stopped everything.
Run 1 (first ever pass down the track)
Reaction - .92
60 ft - 2.69
1/8th ET - 10.02
1/8th MPH - 76.28
1/4 ET - 15.24
1/4 MPH - 92.26
No burnout. The tree caught me off guard and I bogged off the launch, chirped up to 5000 rpm then broke loose for the rest of 1st, broke loose going into 2nd and spun half of it before getting a bite. Normal shifting from 1-2, flat foot shifting the rest. Let off just before crossing the line cause I seen the first speed trap and thought I was done lol. All In all a pretty horid run.
Run 2! (Now I'm really nervous cause I'm embarrassed after the 1st run)
Reaction - 1.09
60 ft - 2.52
1/8 ET - 10.06
1/8 MPH - 75.23
1/4 ET - 15.28
1/4 MPH - 94.55
Small burnout. Used the COBB launch control for this one but didn't slip the clutch and started spinning almost right off the line and well into 2nd, same shifting as before and actually kept on the gas the whole way this time lol. Was hoping for a quicker run but got pretty much the exact same
.
Was almost too embarrassed to post these times as stock FiSTs are running quicker but hopefully someone out there is in the same boat as me and now knows they're not alone. I need A LOT more practice, and slicks wouldn't hurt either lol
