Kurcha for max airflow and considering our ic is actually a factory choke point he's right. You actually would want the plate to block the bottom of the upper grille instead. And if you look at it you can see the bottom honeycomb of the upper grille is closed anyway from the factory.

If you're mainly doing city driving you'd want as much air getting to the intercooler as possible

In that case I need to relocate, it easy to remove and I placed it there because it perfectly covers the holes drilled by the dealer.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yesterday I built my own short shifter and today going to work on raising the shifter mount in the console and adding some length to the shift rod.

Finally got around to installing the Mountune short shifter and full induction kit... I was expecting anything from the intake kit, but WOW, was I surprised when I took it out for a drive! My butt dyno said HELL YEAH!!! much improved throttle response and the turbo just comes in earlier and harder than ever. I also noticed a huge improvement in intake air temps. The hose that runs into the fender really helps keep the temps no higher than 10 degrees above ambient. Most of the time it was with 3 degrees which meant for the first time I saw charge air temps lower than ambient! This car just continues to amaze me!

I also installed the hydraulic hood strut from sico developments out of the UK. Great little kit that was easy to install.

Is this just Mountune's version of a intake system? Like a short ram intake? Or is this a cold air?

Got my Panda Motor Works FMIC on!
If you get a chance, please post a good review on it, from ordering, pricing, install, driving slow/fast and intake temps if you have an AP.

If you feel like. Just not much info out there on these cars intercooler upgrades. Good amount of people upgrade them with cheap and expensive coolers, but I feel like we haven't gotten too much back as far as feed back...

To maximize any intercooler I most highly recommend using some ABS plastic sheet and blocking off any air from going around the IC, sides, top and bottom. It will help a great deal especially since the opening to it is so small, force more air into the areas not in the direct line of air flow, etc......

Looks good though:)

ABS is my preferred material, light weight, can be molded with a little heat applied, flexible enough to not damage things much in a minor hit, easy to work with, low cost. I buy it in 4'x8' sheets wholesale for $32!

I am going to post this in the performance section as it is an important real performance issue.

Good day:)

Cool, looks like a Treadstone TR6 core there? What was the fit like? Are you happy with it?
Yes, its a TR6. It's the prototype 😃 I'm happy with it but we have work to do to make it perfect.

Like I said above this is the prototype and for being what it is, I'm happy with it! They'll be more adjustments to come for perfection, then there will be a review.

Hey was that your FiST at FocusFest a few weeks ago? I was at the Panda booth and I saw a Black FiST there with the same wheels.
That was indeed myself! Should have dropped in and spoken with us!

Turned the wheel too soon when backing out of a parking space. Horrible sound of metal on granite. Took a couple of inches of Rado off the rf rim. Damn!
Doesn't really show up too bad through all the break dust though.

I sound deadened the hatch door and started stuffing acoustical foam into the rear pillars and below them being careful not not block the air flow to the cabin vents that are deep down in there. I will add more to other areas back there which will greatly reduce road noise. Using very careful to use the least amount of mat and lots of foam, Ensolite and acoustical foam I can keep the weight added really low, probably no more than 1.5 lbs today is all it took.

I also did stage two of raising the shifter using some nylon bushings and extended hex nuts (called rod nuts), it was a bit harder than expected but I had already raised the shifter by dividing the mount an making some steel inserts which was a lot more time consuming. Now it is around 2.75" taller than stock, next is a taller knob.

I will post pics later when I start a sound deadening tutorial and add the shifter pics to the shifter mod thread.
