Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to the forum I guess you could say, but I'm sure some of you have seen me around here. I have done very minor mods thus far so have not started a build thread (stage 1) but I wanted to write a review on the MAPerformance Cat Back Exhaust. The thread will be ongoing until this weekend when I actually install, but for now here's my initial thoughts from ordering to unpacking it. Hope you enjoy!

First things first, Adam at MAP ( [MENTION=3178]maperformance[/MENTION] ) is outstanding to work with. I've been on many forums in the past having come from the Mustang and Eclipse scene's previously, and i've never dealt with a more hands on vendor. Often times vendors treat only those who are already educated on the subject or part with care, where as the "noobs" (like me, 1st turbo) fall to the wayside. Adam answers every question, regardless how stupid very promptly and ensures you purchase what's best for your end goals and needs rather than just push every product on you. So props to Adam!

Now, I ordered the exhaust, it shipped Wednesday and arrived Monday morning. Very fast in my opinion. Packaging was great, lots of wrap and foam and nothing moved around in the box at all. Very pleased.

Now the unpacking!

The parts look immaculate! The welds are all amazing, whoever does them is a real professional, its quality appears much higher than anything I've ran on previous cars. The bends look great with no imperfections.

Now...the TIPS! Man i love these tips. Nice and sturdy looking with a great shine, and i love the staggered placement to follow the bumper line.

Looking great so far! Now, something that i was quite interested in during the R&D process is the "MAP Private label stainless sleeve joints" used in this kit instead of doing slip fit joints. Upon their arrival i better understand the explanation as to their function and use. I've never done an exhaust this way, but makes for a very easy install so it will be cool to see how it turns out!

Here's a closer look at these bad boys:

Well on first impressions I'm very VERY pleased with my new CBE. It looks as advertised and the quality is outstanding. I will be installing on Saturday morning and will try to use a better camera for pics of install and I will of course attempt to do a sound clip video after installing, but we all know how YouTube likes exhausts.

If you have any specific requests or pics you'd like just ask before Saturday and I will make it happen!

Thanks again Adam and props to Modern Automotive Performance on a quality product! Can't wait!

Updates to come!

Thank you for the write up, excited for part 2!

I will say though, you touch on our welds but didn't take any pictures! Hahaha!

We have 6 fabricators on staff, this first batch was done by our fabrication manager Andrew and he did a great job. They will be moved over to our production line where guys are welding all day and produce robot quality welds!

Let me fix that for ya.

Hey I'm new at this! I'll rock some more pics after work of them welds in the sunlight. Also will take a better pic of the tips showing their quality and how their staggered as my first pics don't quite do it justice.

Can't wait for Saturday morning!

You and I must be thinking of different dudes. The Adam I know at MAP forced me to buy a super sexy downpipe. He is constantly pushing me to buy ridiculously awesome stuff, and once he even scolded me about what I had for lunch.

Of course I kid. Adam is top-notch. He's a hell of a guy/merchant/engineer. I look forward to him dropping good news of a 3" exhaust for a certain black FiST. *poke* *poke*

Good looking exhaust! I was almost sold on Cobb but not sure now. Have to wait and see when all the holiday sales start to happen [rofl]
I've had my FiST since March and all I've done so far is a COBB AP. With so much still coming to the market and manufactures developing stuff for us daily I'm just patiently waiting in the background watching and learning.

Holiday sales will probably be enticing though, lol. [emoji106]

I'm at stage 1 also. Looking to go to stage 3 after the snow melts in the spring (NY). Going to utilize all the upcoming sales (black Friday, Christmas, tax season) and go from there...

Got my order in for the DHM race intercooler and crash bar (group buy) and got the sale price for the Mishimoto OCC yesterday [coolsmile]

I was basically sold on the Cobb, until I watched the R &D thread on this and heard the sound clips and decided this was going to be the one for me. It's great quality as you can see, and after Saturday morning I'll be able to speak more to the sound and most importantly for me the lack of drone that MAP gave extra attention too during their R&D. I commute alot and here in Canada our highway speed is basically 75mph so no drone is a big deal for me. I've heard the Cobb in person, so after I get this installed I'll be able to really give my thoughts between the two. In the end everyone has their own tastes sound wise and drone wise and style wise, but as someone who likes the Cobb also but now owns the MAP I'll give my 100% honest opinion.
