^ Exactly this.

On a side-note, will there be a sight glass so that people can see how much couldn't is/isn't in there or will you have to remove the cap every time to check it?
They have done a sight glass on other expansion tanks or plan to

Obviously a different design than ours, but hopefully they add a small one

"Will Eventually Crack". You went so far as to analyze the chemical consistencies of the plastic Ford has used.

You regulate my Reading?

Sure, for a 1960's MG. - This is a Globally sold 2014+ Car using one of fords most popular Engines.

That is Exactly what you said earlier. Stop Back Peddling.

Read this and try not to laugh.

That is not what you said. Heck you even threw your Engineering job (!!!) into this mess.

Durrrrrrrrr

And I'm not bashing their parts. But arguing that this solves any kind of problem is a Joke.
WOW! Who's arguing. I'm just replying to your "posts" Nuff said.

I'm sure the aluminum will either be powder coated or anodized to protect it. My vote is for red, blue, or black anodize. Also, how about rounding the edge near the AC line, so its more like the OEM part?
I'd be down if I can get it in blue anodized.

Sorry for the confusion! We are not aware of any instances of the stock tanks failing and you are correct that it would be silly on such a new car. This product's first purpose isn't to solve a problem (mainly because at this stage there shouldn't be one). We meant to state that there are a few benefits to this tank the first being that it looks great! A secondary benefit is that in general aluminum is stronger than plastic and that this aluminum tank will outlast its plastic counterpart because its constructed from a more durable material. I hope I was able to clear this up!

maybe a powered coated version for those of us that arent into the bling bling

Thanks for the feedback! We will certainly consider providing some other color options for these tanks!

Absolutely! Our design will feature a level indicator similar to some of the other tanks that we have so that you can visually see where your coolant levels are. That way you can have the benefit of an excellent looking product without losing the functionality of the stock tank!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

interested, the stock tank occupies a ton of visual real estate under the hood

I have always been about performance first, looks second but sometimes looks takes a bit of priority like on the ST with a not so very good looking engine, especially with the cover removed (it had to come off to reduce weight since weight is the number one enemy of speed) and the stock tank is not so great looking either.

Long term, I have seen many cracked tanks but as mentioned it usually takes considerable time so this is a good investment for those with plans of long term ownership unless in later years you want to carry a spare stock tank in the car:)

I will likely get one but probably after I have exhausted all the performance gains I plan to achieve with this car, which is not that far off.

Glad you guys love the FiST enough to make so many parts for a small market car, thanks!

Rick

Sara, not sure if someone asked. Would you consider to paint it black to match the engine compartment tone? Thanks.

Absolutely!
We are planning to offer this tank in both polished and anodized black in order for you guys to choose which best matches your Fiesta ST!

[thumb] The Mountune airbox I purchased recently. It is painted in gray colour which gives me a lot of headache on painting or wrapping it in black.

Thank you Sara.

Just scuff the Mountune airbox up with some scotchbrite, then lay down some primer, and then black in whatever finish you like (satin to gloss). It will stick well if you follow some basic rattle can painting how-tos. I would recommend wrapping the box in gold reflective tape, however.

I painted mine black, and then decided to wrap it in heat reflecting tape.

Reflective tape sound like a pretty good idea! Have you seen any improvements in intake temperatures by doing that?

Yes Sara, it really helps with heat soak. The other thing I did was to use a hole saw to drill a 3" hole in the plastic shield that leads to the inlet that connects to the air box, to allow more cold air into the Mountune air box. Also, I made sure that the fiber hose at the bottom of the air box is stuck into the driver's side space, behind the fog light area, but on top of the IC hose.

I still need to fabricate a snorkel to attach to the air box. Once Mishi comes out with a replacement radiator, I'll tackle both jobs at once. I'm also thinking of adding the oil cooler at that time.

Awesome! We are still in development of the radiator at this time. Good news is we should have some updates for you shortly as we are about to begin testing on this rad! Also, we do have our direct-fit oil cooler already available for the Fiesta ST if you wanted to get a hold of that. All of the products that we are working on or have in the works are listed on our directory thread HERE if you haven't already had a chance to check it out!

No, that's not it. The radiator cover plastic cowl is where I drilled the 3" hole. This allows air from the front of the car to enter into the airbox. Search bluebomber. He has a 10 best tips for the ST, and this is one of them.

One thing I would like to see is less bouncyness to the tank. Right now it is only friction fit and can rattle. Being plastic it is not too bad, other than it will wear the tank, but once it it metal it will start to be louder and more annoying. Not too sure what options are available, maybe a clamp on the tabs squeezed by a bolt, maybe drill a hole in the tab of the car (not sure many would do this, I would), even having a strap onto the strut mount (maybe).
