Anymore updates on this thread? Like to here dyno numbers and when I can buy this thing!
Me too.... Been following all this R&D but no data yet?
Apologies for the delay, expect a post on this soon!

I had a quick question; as I will need to be finding a downpipe for any big turbo upgrade plans I have. How many cells are you using in your catted option? Everyone pretty much offers a 200 cell catalytic converter in their aftermarket downpipes, but I'm looking for something a little higher in count to help with emissions testing and odor reduction. I was wondering if the Mishimoto downpipe will be higher than 200 cells in count? I know the oem catalytic converter is somewhere near 800 cell, so getting somewhere a little closer to that would be ideal.
Great question! Our catted downpipe features a 200 cell catalytic converter as well. This is because a higher cell count can be more restrictive. However, we appreciate your feedback and will certainly take this into consideration.

Dissapointing; but understandable. The downpipe with the stock turbo isn't that much of a restriction or really any at all (Thus resulting in performance gains well within what one might call a margin of error), hence why I asked. Bigger turbos are obviously a different story, but at that point you should know what you are getting into.

Thanks for the reply! Don't suppose there would be some sort of custom option we could work out in that regard, though?

DHM's downpipe is like 500 or something... I think

Not explicitly no but Russ is in the business of making money, so he could probably be convinced to do so for the right amount.

Although we don't do custom work, we will keep your suggestion in mind. If there is enough interest for a certain product we will definitely look into making it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Downpipe for What? Mishimoto’s Fiesta ST Downpipe R&D Part 3

We are back with more on our Fiesta ST downpipe project. We know you are long overdue for an update, so we’ll dive right in. After fabrication, we read that some other aftermarket downpipes for the Fiesta ST weren’t as successful at making power as downpipes typically are on other applications. We still wanted to test our downpipe designs to see the data for ourselves, and decide if the downpipe was worth manufacturing for the Fiesta ST.

After testing was completed, the data confirmed our suspicions that the Fiesta ST is pretty darn efficient on its own, and the addition of a downpipe did not show any gains in power. Even still, we have decided to kick this into production for those who want the sound benefit, and for those who have more modified Fiesta STs.

A tune will be required to run this downpipe, and of course actual power gains will depend the tune itself and the supporting modifications to your ST.

Final Prototype

Our final prototype arrived today and we wasted no time getting it installed on the Fiesta ST. The downpipe bolted right up to all stock Fiesta ST parts with no issues and looks great installed on the car. Check out some photos and let us know what you think!

Coming Up!

The wait is over; we are gearing up for a pre-sale! Stay tuned within the week for more information on this, as well as photos of the completed Fiesta ST downpipe.

Thanks for Reading!

You say there were no gains to be had... Could you, perhaps, give us more details in regards to the testing methods and procedures?

I too would love to hear more details. Are we talking no improvement on stock applications, or no improvement on stage 1 or stage 2 ots tunes?

There were no improvements with our Mishimoto downpipe when we tested it against a stock Fiesta ST with a tune. We first ran the completely stock Fiesta ST for a baseline. We then loaded a tune and ran the an otherwise stock Fiesta ST on the dyno. Finally, we ran the Fiesta with the addition of the downpipe and our tune, and there were no improvements in horsepower or torque when comparing the runs with only a tune to the runs with a tune and a downpipe.

So the downpipe alone did not make any additional power, but could certainly be used as a supporting modification.

So, in other words, tuning made the difference and not the part.
