QTP was the standard for electronic cut outs back in the day. They've been around for a long time. I'm sure they have something that would work. They make cutouts for all sizes of exhaust.

My brother was friends with the owner/proprietor/founder of that company way back when they first started out supplying LSx cars with their products (I'm guessing he still is friends with Barry?).

Strange I can do this with just my Mountune exhaust it just took time to realise what the sound and RPM are. Now that said if you just want RPM sound maybe some modification to the symposer would be better for you so that the "loud" engine rumbling is only fed to you and therefore you are not that guy. Symposer is just an air drum being fed by boost pressure. Or maybe mount the cobb AP where you can see the tach graphically in your periphery.
Right - your exhaust makes it where you can hear (or feel) it and tell when to shift. If the radio is on or the windows down, it's hard to hear (or feel) the engine. And I have removed the foam insert from the symposer tube, it does make it more noticeable (a lot of people moan about the symposer, I personally like it - until I get something worked out with the exhaust, anyway). I can try the AP mount - I also have Torque Pro on my phone, so I can use a gauge that turns red or something at a certain RPM. But it's more fun to hear the exhaust! [woot]

You added a picture! I see you have the clamps to adapt the diameter correctly. Did you install that yourself? Are the clamps easy to come by?
I have the Cobb CBE so it was 2.5 inch all around, made it much easier. Install was easy enough. Wiring is harder than the exhaust splicing. I got 12v power from splicing into the cig lighter and ground from any old bare metal with a nut.

I ran the wire from the cutout through a grommet behind the front driver wheel, near the kickout panel (finger pointed in pics). The blue piece is the easiest way to splice into the 12v wire. I have the switch mounted in the cubby below the shifter.
