I just got through getting my 91 octane and e30 tunes from Adam. The thing I most like about Adam is his willingness to answer questions, and fulfill requests for one change or another to a tune.

The 91 octane took a while, but the results were very impressive. I was running the Cobb Stage 3 tune for 91 octane, previously. I use Vdyno to look at my logs and compare them. I've tried to compare apples to apples when it comes to this comparison, but Adams 91 octane tune is much better than the Cobb tune. Once I run through the e30 in my tank, I will post some comparison datalogs between the Cobb and my new 91 octane tune taken on the same street on the same day.

I asked Adam to add back in rev hang into my two tunes. I know most don't like this aspect of the OEM tune, but I wanted to see if I liked it or not. I did a complete unmarry with the accessport, in order to compare bone stock rev hang with Adams' version. His version is so much better. We went through about 15 iterations with the 91 tune before we were satisfied with the tune.

Earlier this week, I switched over to e30 and ran Adam's e30 tune. He nailed it in one try. I compared this to someone else's e40 tune, and was amazed by the numbers. Adam's torque and HP differences between his e30 and the other e40 tune were statistically insignificant. Adam is the go to guy when it comes to email tuning. If you need a tune, you should consider MAPerformance tunes for life.[thumb]

What does this do to factory warranty and does it void it? Can they find out? What are positives and negative?

If you remove your accessport and unmarry it (which I never do, the unmarrying part) There usually is no reason for the dealer to go poking around your ECU. Cobb has said that the accessport does leave traces of itself, IE it shows that the ECU was flashed, but again, the Dealer would need to be accessing your ECU to obtain this information. I have all sorts of mods visible on my Fiesta ST and have never had a writeup on my service invoice. The dealer even checked remaining pad life on my Willwood BBK without any hassle. It really depends on your dealer how anal they want to be. Just having an aftermarket part does not violate your warranty. Having an aftermarket part responsible for a failure in a system, would mean you would have to pay for that repair, not Ford. The problem is the back and forth necessary to prove that your part is responsible for a system failure. It helps if the system that failed is not related to the after market part. Some dealers are looking for any excuse, others don't really care. The trick is finding out the good ones from the others. I got lucky. I bought the car from a good dealer and have the 100K miles parts and service warranty.

On Version 1 (coming from stock, then Cobb OTS Stage 3 93) so not much to report other than:

1. Mileage up 3-4mpg's. I do the same 60 mile loop daily. The Cobb tune didn't change mpg over stock in my case.

2. Boost begins waaay sooner. Almost after tip-in. Took a minute to get used to that sensitivity.

3. Compressor Surge (or at least that's what I think I was experiencing with the Cobb tune) is virtually gone. Very linear power.

4. Less timing advance. Max Cobb tune advance was +5?. MAPerformance maxes at +2? which is good.

All in all, very happy so far. Now to get these logs sent to him...

V1 is a baseline tune based on your list of mods. The fun starts after a "few" revisions. You will get more boost. You will get more timing. It will be smooth as a babies @ss. It will be fast AF. It will be fun. You will love it! That is all. lol [raceflag]

What if the baseline tune is giving me all of that already?! Lol

I know max boost will be bumped up some but as far as the timing, it was my understanding that the less the timing advances, the better the tune for the fuel and mods. Correct me if I'm wrong or confused.

You want as much timing as you can without knock. A tune can be set to have 0 KS advance and not give you all of the timing that you can use. Conversely, a tune can be set to max out KS advance and also not give you all of the timing that you can use, so don't use KS advance as your reference.

Different tuners use KS advance differently, so also keep that in mind.

I would have to check to be certain that I am almost sure that I am using the ignition correction cylinder 1 to get those figures.

Exactly. Ignition correction is your knock sensor advance/retard and is only one compensation. You want to be looking at your total timing instead, which is your timing after all compensations.
