GM engine that was in Camaro Corvette etc.
Lol. Yea... I got that, lol. But what does "LS1" mean? I actually helped a friend swap a 5.3L LS motor into his 87' monte carlo last year. I looked at swapping a LQ4 6.0L LS motor into my 2002 jeep wrangler, instead, I went with a efi 5.0L from a 95 mustang GT. I'm glad I did.... The mustang engine almost ripped that POS jeep in half, a 6.0L Ls motor would have def finished the job, lol. It was bad enough I had to replace ever single driveline part minus the trans to coup with the ole 5.0L

Let me tell ya.... Guys who THINK that 4.0L inline 6 jeep motor is a "torque monster", they are full of crap. I've had 3 4.0L jeeps. That bone stock 5.0L car motor made the boat anchor tractor motor look/feel like 1.3L suzuki motor, lol.

Anyway... Sorry. I'm bored. Lol

LS is no more than an engine code, ive wondered myself if it actually ment anything but every time ive looked it up or asked a Corvette owner they do not know either.

Google-Fu is strong with me and I still am unable to find a viable answer.

I dont know if it would really make that much of a difference but I may be wrong. Perhaps with a big turbo.
Actually, a larger throttlebody was one of the better mods for my Focus SVT. This might actually have merit with a tune. [biggrin]

Can you post some pics when it arrives? How much did this cost? Core? Did I not read back far enough? lol
Nevermind, I see everything on their website. I'm going to order one as well and try it out and see if Adam maperformance can do any of his magic with the tune. I'll post back when I get it and have it bolted on. [:)]

Thanks Jeff. Are you having it shipped to Italy?
Yes, I'd expect it to be here by Friday, but due to the military handling my mail, it'll probably show up in my box next week. I'll take some decent side-by-side shots before the install. I'm not sure if my butt is sensitive enough to detect a difference, as I only have about 1400 miles on the car.... We'll see.

I usually don't like ported drive by wire throttle bodies, they cause a ton of idle issues on other cars. If you get it and we start having stumbling issues it will be the root cause!

Explain why? Comming from the mustang world ported and bigger throttle bodys dont seem to be an issues unless there is a flaw in the design.

I thought I just did haha. Idle and drivability (stumble) issues.
Thats just stating issues youve had/seen. Thats not saying why and what actually causes it. Like i said i ve come from the mustang world with drive by wire and normally going with a ported/bigger throttle doesnt seem to be an issue. In some cases you dont even have to adjust the throttle tables because the stock calibration can adjust.

So my question to you is an issue with the ecoboost family tuning tables? Is it because these cars are not maf control computers? It seems the fusion guys dont seem to have an issue or at least one ive seen reported with the ported/bigger throttle bodys.

Every car is going to be different, I would suggest if he wants to try it to definitely do it but if it starts having issues, which I have seen first hand, it will more than likely be caused by the throttle body.

It all really depends on how the tuning is setup for the vehicle receiving the bigger DBW ported throttle body. For the BRZ/FRS and the EVO X it was an issue. Some cases the EVO X was fine, but on others it was not.

I can see some tables that might be effected by the throttle body being bored, but I can't say 100% that they will be.

Thank you. I look forward to see how this goes when you tune it.
