Whats the prices on them? The Coopers I was talking about you can get at NTB for 400 installed currently. I think they are right there with the conti dws extremecontacts (snow experience withstanding).

I'd probably wait around for shops to do some labor day sales... I have actually had good luck ordering from discount tire direct and taking them to a shop for install. They usually do 100 bucks off around the big holidays and free shipping.

Seems like only tires on rebate right now are hankook, bridgestone and yoko.

The continentals are 120 a pop on tire rack. The goodyears are 130 a pop, and the Michelin are 140 a pop. I'm also thinking about hitting the dealership up and seeing if they can mount and balance em for free since they sold me shit tires.

I've run through 4 sets of the DWS Continentals, great tires for rain and light snow/ice. The dry grip does leave a little to be desired but they give you plenty of warning before completely slipping. The dry grip does improve the more the tread gets worn down.

They've improved dry grip in the new model without sacrificing snow/ice grip.

Ghastly. I'm partial to Mewtwo myself. Apparently tirerack says the Michelins are better than the DWS 6 in their review. But in their comparison chart, DWS are still ranked number 1. My brain hurts. I also emailed Nexen in the hopes that they pick up some of the cost of new tires given that the Nexen are still almost new and under a warranty. Yes, I know the warranty doesn't apply here. At the very least, maybe they'll stop selling, or improve, their N5000s, preventing consumers from shitting themselves whlist driving in the wet.

As with anything, there's always a compromise. The compromise here is DWS 06 may have slightly lower in responsiveness/dry grip, but they are significantly better in light snow. Come the winter months (Holidays) I drive from Illinois to Alabama/Florida to visit family/friends. I won't put 1700 miles on a dedicated winter set up, so all-seasons are the next best thing. The DWSs is the reigning king when it comes to All-Season snow traction. I had a set of the outgoing model on my Genesis a couple years ago, and cutting through snow was never a problem. Never even shoveled my inclined driveway... With the Mich AS/3, I was sliding all over, and got stuck in the driveway a few times resulting in actually having to shovel. However, we're talking about a 3500lb/RWD (w/LSD 225F/245R) car vs a 2700lb/FWD (sorta LSD 205 square) car...so who knows? I know I won't trust my AS/3s in the snow again, and I know I'm going with a dedicated winter set-up this year. Gotta have that traction for the power.

That's Gengar actually but who really cares ;) Haha.

And I had General Artics on mine last year and they're great, and cheap too. I've never heard a bad thing about the DWS either though.

Sold. I've also never heard any negatives about DWS. I've had them recommended before, and have heard they're pretty decent on the winter. Those Nexen left me stuck in a flat driveway because of a very small icy divot. After spending 500 bucks on new tires, I'm not going to be in the mood to buy winter tires. Not this year anyway.
