Yes i believe this weekend should be a go. unless shit hits the fan. maperformance. my worry right now is the turbo outlet hose blowing off during a WOT pull. ive lost all faith in this component
Pull it off. Clean the inside out with brake cleaner, then spray some hairspray on it when you go to install it. Let it dry for 10 minutes then fire it up. Sounds crazy, but it works.

Funny you say that; as i have pulled this off cleaned it with alcohol and reinstalled it, and still poof. maybe hairspray is the kicker.

If the cyborg is blowing hoses maybe we can get maperformance or DHM to come up with some larger/longer pipes to increase the rubber hose coverage (to add more clamps)(and hairspray)...

I never blew a hose off of anything.

I'm definitely interested in the cyborg turbo as I'm at my limits with everything else.. My issue is I autox and I love that low- mid punch that the stock turbo has I don't have much need for top end other than hurting feelings on my way to work..haha if this option keeps that same style just moves the whp and torque up more than I'm sold.. Also looking to switch to e85.

Check out the thread that I posted earlier. Not only does it keep most of the low end punch but it keeps the power climbing to redline.

Keep in mind.... We are a full service turbo shop, so you have options. We can clip and rebalance the turbo reasonably cheap. You can get ported manifold and turbine housings without the upgrade ($350+ shipping + refundable core charge), which is what I'm doing right this hour. While I can't make any promises about peak power numbers, I can tell you I made 354ft of torque at 2900~ rpm on E40, cyborg ported manifold/turbine housing, cyborg big inlet, and a bone stock turbocharger. So even if you wanted to keep the "donkey drop kick" tire wasting stock turbo, there is an in-between. I personally ported my manifold and turbine housing without any other mods on a stock turbo and drove it a couple months like that at first. And it was not my best port job by far ( my car was down and I had limited time ). But it def drove better at every rpm at every throttle position. I also ran cobb stg3 91oct OTS tune with nothing but a downpipe and catback ( stock intake and intercooler) without knock with my ported exhaust parts. So while different combo's have not been experienced, and don't come with any promises, you can def pick up power on a stock turbo with ported parts and an inlet ( should also mention, I was running the $100 EFR wastegate actuator ).

Hmmmm good to know.. Maybe I should try that and once I get bored with that get the turbo.. What's the cost for that set up? I'd definitely be sending you the cores for it all

My newest member of "stop sending pictures" is "Tom", and he is actually doing just the ported manifold and turbine housing.

Stock center ports, started outer ports.

That looks just like what I used to do to our raceski manifolds (Kawasaki 1200STX-Rs and 1100ZXis). Once we'd open them up a bit and change the shape of the "deflectors" (which lowering them increased port plugging since we were using a 3 into 1 exhaust system and not true tuned pipes likes triples for instance. On a two stroke the sonic sound wave and scavenging gets cancelled out by another exhaust port partially opening or closing (with the simgle pipe and 3 into 1 manifold). Then once we got the shapes the way we wanted we'd ship to Extrude hone for the glass finish all the way through. I know the Extrudehone stuff is a bit pricey but we found some good power with it. Won a couple of National Championships with a single pipe set-up and most everyone else were using triple pipes (one pipe per cyclinder). They said it couldn't be done but we did it anyway. lol [wink]
