Is an exhaust even worth it?

pelotonracer2 did you order direct from Scorpion or would you know a US seller?

I might just bite the bullet for that exhaust after I get the IC installed and a tune!
I talked directly to Scorpion but bought it through Essex Parts in North Carolina.

There are No CARB approved replacement performance Cat's for the FIST. There are downpipes which have a Cat in them but they are not CARB Approved and will fail a visual inspection.

Until it falls apart.
hmm makes me wonder what else is illegal in cali.

I'm assuming you went through the exhaust thread and listened to all the YouTube vids? I did and while its not perfect even on 1080p quality with decent headphones I tend to agree that almost all the aftermarket exhausts sound ricerish, except the milltek. Almost reminded me of a louder version of the stock exhaust.

Look, lets be real here. We love the Fiesta for its fun and handling. But for those of us that have had, or those that just like, bigger displacement motor exhaust, you won't find an exhaust out there that doesn't sound "ricerish". Its the nature of the beast with 1.6 liters.

The mbrp ss 3 inch looks like the one for me then when I get around to it. Anyone else have it installed and what is their impression.

If that's what you like, go for it. A 3" exhaust is way overkill for this little motor. Hell, when I was going for 10's in my Camaro, the guys were trying to convince me that a 4" exhaust was necessary. Not so, and proved them wrong. It's a classic example of misunderstanding. These 1.6 motors, even on high boost, are fine with a 2", or at most, a 2 1/2" exhaust.

Cat-back exhaust is simply a diminishing-gains scenario and is not bad in any way. Going bigger is not any worse, you can go too small, and if you go 'too big' then at least it's still useable for future expansion.

This is the way I look at it also....it can be used for future use.

Hey, we agree on something!! :). J/K. This is true, a 3" will be useful in the future with turbo upgrade, etc. If I'm not mistaken, most aftermarket DP's mate to 3" pipes as well.

The best sounding exhaust would probably be CP-E and mbrp. Even though with the drone and raspiness in the mbrp i went with it and bought one . Just love the popping and crackling and turbo sound . Can't beat the price either .
