Modifying the end connectors is a good idea. I found that if I rotate the OEM end connectors and leave enough gap between the end of the hose and the end of the connector, they firmly snap into place without danger of popping off.
You got it! Our quick disconnect fittings should function the same, if not better than the OEM connectors. They should also attach firmly and stay connected, so no worries there!
That's one sexy looking doodad right there. Me like!
Nice to see the advancement of the product.
It only remains to see the final product with the final support!
Thanks for the kind words guys! This is essentially the final product, minus the bracket, which will be in shortly.
This is amazing that you are transparent in your desings process. This is great customer relations.
Would it be too much to ask for a picture of the blue hosery? The red looks so nice but trying to do blue hoses. That said I have a question would the silicon hoses for FMIC you state in the future project be red/blue/black as colour options? I'm waiting to place the order for the CAD $ to climb so please let us know ahead of the presale closure so I can spend money.
Thank you
Thank you for your feedback!
We have not yet reached the point in development where we decide which colors we will make available for the boots in the intercooler piping kit. This is good news because we can take your feedback into consideration when we are making that decision. Based on other kits that we have developed I would say that there is a good chance there will be color options for that kit. Stay tuned for a full post coming very soon on the intercooler and piping!
As for blue hoses for the catch can, at this time the only samples we received were red ones. When we have professional product photos taken (not by me) that will certainly be something they include. As soon as we have the entire kit in to shoot we will update the product page with more color option shots. If you want to get an idea ahead of time, here are two shots of part of the mustang ecoboost hose for color comparison purposes.
Mishimoto, are these hoses fluorosilicon? Most silicone hoses are not compatible with oil or gas unless specially fabricated to not swell in the presence of hydrocarbons.
I was waiting for someone to raise this concern...Hopefully Mishimoto had the foresight to at least use fluorosilicone walled hoses...Silicone hose does not hold up very well when subjected to oil vapor for extended periods of time.....
We are not using fluorosilicone for these hoses, we have considered the idea of this posing a potential problem. However, through our testing and use on other applications there has not been an instance of swelling or deterioration of any kind. If you are worried about this being a possibility in the future, this kit is backed by our lifetime warranty for this exact purpose. We will certainly address the issue should our hoses start failing on these types of kits and update our materials.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!
