I went with the black hoses on my order, stealth mode [ninja]
Nice! Thanks for the order!

I'd love to have one of these before heading out to STFest, but I don't think you guys will have them released in time.
It wouldn't be able to say yes or no for sure because we don't have an exact date yet. When would you need it by to be able to make STFest?

mishimoto couple of questions I have been meaning to ask.
1- Does bracket and mounting location support your larger Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can? Form the picture it seems the top plate could make to fit.
2- If so would it be possible to create another kit (the hose set and right angle barbs for the Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can) for those that want a larger capacity?
Unfortunately the larger baffled oil catch can kit will not work with the bracket we have designed for the Fiesta ST catch can kit. The larger baffled oil catch can does come with a bracket, but you would have to fab something up to fit it on our bracket or to go to the mounting point we chose for our kit.

We have been reading your comments and realize that the size of the can could be a concern for some who are tracking their Fiestas or just want more volume. At this time we do not have plans for a larger option direct fit kit for the Fiesta ST. That being said we will be doing more testing with the Fiesta and, as we put some more miles on it, if we see a need for a larger can we will certainly explore that as an option at a later date.
Thanks for your feedback!

If you put Mishimoto's largest, baffled, universal can in the space between the passenger's side strut tower and the air inlet to the turbo, then purchase a PCV hose from Rockauto.com, along with about 3 feet of clear, wire reinforced 5/8" ID hose, you can drill and tap a hole in the passengers side strut tower for a threaded fastener that works great. You can unscrew the bottom of the baffled can, and dump out the oil/gas/water residue at every oil change.

This costs slightly more than the one being offered here, but it is a larger can.

This is an older picture of my setup. Now I have clear, wire reinforced hose for both inlet and outlet.

Update!

Great news to share! We have received word that the final products are on the way to our facility so we can install them on the Fiesta! This means we should have assembled and on-car shots for you guys early next week! For now I leave you with the teaser shot of our silicone hoses in the flesh.

Have a great weekend!

Hey Sara,
I've decided I'm going to order this over the others. I just am wondering if it's recommended we use the drain kit, or its just an accessory some would prefer? Opening and closing the can routinely to empty won't cause it to degrade or anything? I also noticed your answer that the filter need never be replaced and can just be cleaned. Should it dry for X amount of time after cleaning? And just rinse with water? And how often should that be done, each time we empty it or?

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to being a customer again, I used your bigger can on a Mustang prior to this little guy.

Hi there J2,
Thank you in advance for your order! To answer your questions;
 • It is completely up to you if you would like to utilize the drain kit. We include the option for those who prefer that style of draining to unscrewing the can.
 • As for repeated opening and closing of the can, there should be no damage to the catch can regardless of how often you open it. Even so, this catch can kit is backed by our lifetime warranty for added assurance that our product is going to perform as described!
 • We recommend cleaning with soap and water and let dry. Once the components of the can are dry you are clear to re-assemble it and put it back in the car.
 • As for how often to clean the catch can, that is up to you and your car. We recommend checking the can every 1500 miles at first to ensure that the can does not fill past the baffle. Once you have done this a few times you will have a better idea of how often you should empty the can. While you are at it, any time you open the can take a look at the filter and insides to see if they could use a cleaning. The frequency of both cleaning and emptying the can is going to depend on the car and the driving conditions.
We're happy to have you as a customer and if you have any additional questions let me know!
Thanks!
-Sara

Update!

We received our hoses and quick disconnect fittings today! This is what the final set-up will look like as far as the fittings and hoses. We chose to include these factory-style fittings in with the kit for ease of installation. They are similar to the factory fittings but latch easier due to a small variation in design. Check them out!

We are still waiting on the bracket to arrive so we can check out the complete kit, but I will see if we can work with our prototype bracket to get you some installed shots for now. Either way We will make sure to keep you guys in the loop!
Thanks for hanging in there!

Modifying the end connectors is a good idea. I found that if I rotate the OEM end connectors and leave enough gap between the end of the hose and the end of the connector, they firmly snap into place without danger of popping off.

Nice to see the advancement of the product.

It only remains to see the final product with the final support!

This is amazing that you are transparent in your desings process. This is great customer relations.

Would it be too much to ask for a picture of the blue hosery? The red looks so nice but trying to do blue hoses. That said I have a question would the silicon hoses for FMIC you state in the future project be red/blue/black as colour options? I'm waiting to place the order for the CAD $ to climb so please let us know ahead of the presale closure so I can spend money.

Thank you

Mishimoto, are these hoses fluorosilicon? Most silicone hoses are not compatible with oil or gas unless specially fabricated to not swell in the presence of hydrocarbons.

I was waiting for someone to raise this concern...Hopefully Mishimoto had the foresight to at least use fluorosilicone walled hoses...Silicone hose does not hold up very well when subjected to oil vapor for extended periods of time.....

Super stoked and putting this at the top of my mod list. Thought of a custom plate for your project car "FRDPGWN" (Fear the Penguin) [perfect10]

You got it! Our quick disconnect fittings should function the same, if not better than the OEM connectors. They should also attach firmly and stay connected, so no worries there!

That's one sexy looking doodad right there. Me like!

Thanks for the kind words guys! This is essentially the final product, minus the bracket, which will be in shortly.

Thank you for your feedback!

We have not yet reached the point in development where we decide which colors we will make available for the boots in the intercooler piping kit. This is good news because we can take your feedback into consideration when we are making that decision. Based on other kits that we have developed I would say that there is a good chance there will be color options for that kit. Stay tuned for a full post coming very soon on the intercooler and piping!

As for blue hoses for the catch can, at this time the only samples we received were red ones. When we have professional product photos taken (not by me) that will certainly be something they include. As soon as we have the entire kit in to shoot we will update the product page with more color option shots. If you want to get an idea ahead of time, here are two shots of part of the mustang ecoboost hose for color comparison purposes.

We are not using fluorosilicone for these hoses, we have considered the idea of this posing a potential problem. However, through our testing and use on other applications there has not been an instance of swelling or deterioration of any kind. If you are worried about this being a possibility in the future, this kit is backed by our lifetime warranty for this exact purpose. We will certainly address the issue should our hoses start failing on these types of kits and update our materials.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thanks!

Great customer service and speed at which you respond to these threads. PS I cannot WAAAIT to see your FMIC thread go up. I'm just sitting on my wallet until you do so then I can finally make a decision which companies kit will be cooling my ride!

Also your still going to provide notice of an end date of your presale correct? That Canadian dollar is low low low atm.
Great work!
