I got this Email from the Guy I bought a few Fords from and it makes me think, is the price listed is for a base car or a optioned car? IDK nor did I care to follow up on this But why isn't this car spoken for yet ? maybe now it is but I would have thought there would be no need to send out this kind of emails as with our recent purchase of the "R" (petrol btw lol) from VW we were there 6 months ahead of time.. anyways here is what I got in the email yesterday Sept 23 2015

Just got word that we will get one Focus RS for 2016. Will not be eligible for X-Plan pricing. Pricing rumors are $38-40.

If you have an interest will need to know right away as the first down payment will get the car.

Focus RS Numbers Confirmed - 345hp / 347tq

I have a feeling the way Ford is pricing and positioning this car is going to be a headache for us normal guys that just to buy it no different then its competitors like an STI, EVO or Golf R. I understand the hype,it's "limited" edition in all, but man the dealers are going to think its like the 2nd coming or something and are going to price gouge accordingly, or make test drives and even close up access such near impossible. It's a bit hard to describe my feelings completely but I am not optimist about the accessibility of the RS.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Most dealerships have a high turnover rate to begin with, let alone all of the different models to learn and be knowledgeable with. Compound the models with all of the different trim variants, and all of the options/accessories...it very quickly becomes unmanageable. Don't forget model updates and refreshes in-between.

I never expect salesmen/women to know anything about what I want to buy, and I'm fine with that. What would be the point of studying the ins-and-outs of the RS if only 2k arrive for the entire US? Let them study the F-150 and Mustang variants because those are the platforms that carry the company.

Yep when I was selling Dodge/Ram (before they split the two) back in 2010 I tried to know alot about everything, but you commonly knew the most about the Ram 1500, Charger and Challenger. We knew what side our bread was buttered on.

Became fun when we had to do those huge "used" car selloffs and people would ask me a ton of questions about a Hyundai god-damn-Tiburon. Its a car you dont want, just know that and walk over to this used Civic. At least it will get you from A-B.

My dealer has RS ordering in November I believe. My dealer will make me pay $5k ADM for a GT350 while others have a $20k ADM assuming the suckers will pay it. They told me I could order an RS for MSRP. Normally I buy my cars invoice - rebates - 50% of dealer holdback, but you can't have your cake and eat it too when we're talking about an RS.

We just received the complete order form, price and feature list from Ford corporate earlier this month. There are not many options, you can select the RS2 package to get the fancy power seats and navigation (this is the pricey one), get different wheels with different tires, get the moonroof, and choose among four colors. Base MSRP is $35,730 and one with every option ticked is $41,200. Not bad at all!

Base price is $35,730. I would buy/pre-order this car no questions asked if it weren't for the ridiculous insurance premiums I foresee getting assigned to this vehicle... I doubt companies will clamoring to insure at a car that comes with a "drift mode" [nutkick]. I'm willing to bet my premium would be as high as the car payment...

I want mine as base as possible in stealth gray. But there's a chance that I may end up with a shadow black one. One person's loss equals another person's gain.....ME!

Don't be so sure. My insurance company charges the same premium for a FiST as it does for a base Fiesta, so it's possible the FoRS will be similar.

^ This. Both of my ST's premiums are the same as the normally-aspirated models.

Hope so. Back in 2006, I bought an Evo IX. I was hoping for a Lancer premium. Instead, it was categorized as a Sports car. [crazyeye]
My broker & I both did a double take when we seen that.

Sounds like I need to change insurance companies... I traded in my 4-door Jeep for this car and my premium went up 69%...

DEARBORN, Mich., Oct. 12, 2015
– The unique EcoBoost® engine in the all-new Focus RS will produce 350 horsepower – far exceeding original estimates of 315 – along with 350 lb.-ft. torque.

And yet even with all that torque, the manual-only hot hatch will be especially forgiving in the event a driver stalls the engine, as Focus RS will debut with a trick feature called stall recovery. In other words, there will be no need for drivers to manually restart the engine or move the gear selector to neutral as the innovative technology simply pushes the clutch back in.

"We knew we wanted to put start-stop technology on the RS," explained Tyrone Johnson, engineering and vehicle manager, Ford Performance Europe. "So we said, 'What if we went one step further, and controlled for engine stall at launch using the same technology?' Well, that's exactly what we did and it's just as fast as our start-stop technology."

The monster output the Focus RS engine achieves is due to its all-new low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger with a larger compressor wheel that delivers more airflow and power throughout the rev range. Peak turbocharger boost is 23.2 psi.

Backing up this increased output is a large intercooler to maximize charge density. Air itself is delivered through a low-restriction intake manifold on the front end with a high-performance exhaust. The system includes an electronically controlled valve that optimizes back pressure and exhaust volume level.

Stout, high-tensile cast-iron cylinder liners are used to enhance the robustness of the engine, while a high-performance head gasket brings improved thermal capability.

Additional space created in the front of the car allowed engineers to deploy a larger radiator than what's used on other Focus models for enhanced cooling.

Despite the engine's high output of 152 horsepower per liter, RS engineers tuned this EcoBoost to deliver right off idle all the way on up to a free-spinning 6,800 rpm, with an especially chunky midrange power delivery.

Focus RS is the latest car to be unveiled as part of a new golden age of Ford Performance. The plan calls for bringing more than 12 high-performance vehicles to market worldwide through 2020.

Developed by a small team of Ford Performance engineers in Europe and the United States, the third-generation Focus RS follows on the heels of the much-loved models launched in 2002 and 2009. The 2016 Focus RS is the 30th car globally to wear the vaunted RS badge, joining such legendary models as the 1970 Escort RS1600, the 1984 mid-engine RS200 Group B rally car, 1985 Sierra RS Cosworth and 1992 Escort RS Cosworth.

Production of Focus RS with 2.3-liter EcoBoost begins later this year.
