There was no explanation given. I took yesterday off because I had hurt my back, and when I came in this morning my immediate supervisor told me that the CEO decided to let me go Wednesday afternoon after we had all went home. On Friday the CEO had sent me home early because I hadn't been given a task to perform during a final assembly, but I didn't think anything of it.
It's fine, this is just an opportunity to find work that's either in my field (CNC set up and operation) or is more dependent upon my brain than my brawn. I was working as an automotive prototype fabricator, which is a job I held 20 years ago. Honestly I'm getting a bit too old and out of shape to be doing that sort of running around and heavy lifting anymore. I'll be driving Uber and Lyft again this weekend, and I'm considering going back into car sales, but at a dealership that actually moves some volume this time.
