Crap, not sure what I am stepping into here...

I own 2 Fiesta STs... One is on a DHM kit, one is just bolt-on's and tune. I have been following this thread for awhile because I was curious what the x-37 was going to make and how well it was going to work out for people. The turbo is a very budget oriented option when it comes to upgrading the turbo. It is by far a better option than the ATP kits.

Then out of nowhere Hijinx asks you guys who are running the x-37 to give it a go at the strip. He wasn't trying to start a bashing convention, just wanted to know how well the turbo worked in the 1/4. MS67 you had no reason to be rude towards us. Get yourself a good set of slicks and take the car to the track. DHM gladly shares the specs on the slicks that I have been running. I get consistent 1.8 60's with them and have only seen it vary from that if I mess up the launch. While you may feel that the car is only good for auto-x and curvy roads I would like you to know that almost all of the STs in my local group attend straight line racing as well as auto-x. They have asked for help getting 1/4 mile times down and I have done my best to assist them.

The drivability of a 380whp FIST is awesome when it is done right. I daily my DHM FIST. I put the turbo on at 18,000 miles and the car now has 47,000 miles on it. Never once have I had regrets that it was too much power for the car. DHM does an awesome job tuning it. Every time I get in the 2nd Fiesta I long for the high power car. It feels dull to me after putting so many miles on the other car and having a blast doing it.

I'll speak for myself on this one, I autocross and will be tracking the car soon. But, I may take it to the strip like once or twice. Even if I do, I have no experience at a strip and I wont be on slicks. So the times will be meh....

I think most people who shop for the X37 fit my category of drivers, most 1/4mile people will want bigger I'm sure. So MS67 is pointing out ways to gauge the power differences vs 1/4 ET vs Hijnx saying take it to the track. I'm not going to beat on this car to see what times I can get on a strip...so I'll never know anyways. But if I go I sure as hell will compare trap speeds.

The rest of that conversation was just theatrics. I am curious what a good driver could put down. We all know it would be faster...

Of course not everyone will and no one has to. It would a be a gee-whiz thing. And, no thanks.

Then why are you telling us to prove were fast? You said it yourself no one has to. My bad dude i kept saying 160mph, i just realized its actually 161mph. My apologies.

I asked and it turned into a pissing match. Go ahead and interpret my comments in whatever way makes you feel best.

Official Pumaspeed X-37 Hybrid Turbo Thread

The truth is... Were all slow as fuck. And I'm not saying because my car has been proven in the 1/2. I'm saying this because there are cars that do 230+ in a 1/2. At least I can keep up with a stock Lamborghini.

Depends the way you look at it. But if a fiesta on e30 with a hybrid turbo can destroy stock stis, pull stock 5.0s, keep up with modded evos, walk 3.8 gens/370z, cars that come with more power than ours do and outperform ours in every way, well thats fast enough for me and damn impressive.

Yeah? Those cars are slow as fuck too.

I guess it just goes back to how many of us want to go 161mph in a Fiesta and then blowing theyre shit. Not many, theyd be smart and buy a car thats meant to go 161mph.

Yeah, we knew it was going to blow. We intentionally waited until the last day of the event to turn it all the way up. Because I have a built engine already waiting... Furthermore, it did 161mph the day before it blew. Got anything else?

I know you're just trolling now lol.
I'm not trolling. Compared to the cars I've seen in person, from all positions in the 1/2, my own personal experience, they are slow. I work half mile events for the last three years, nearly 20 events. I have a pretty good grip on what fast is.

First off, I don't know you, I've never interacted with you and I've never seen you stir the pot just to talk shit. Therefore, I have nothing against you and I applaud you for having a bad ass example of a FiST. There are ways of going about your business that may or may not offend people. Hijinx simply chooses to be offensive for whatever reason. I have nothing against DHM and am thoroughly impressed with their work and offerings, and if I ever were to take my car to the next level and pursue something more than an X37 setup, I would without a doubt go with DHM. So don't think I'm trying to make a blanket statement and offend anyone, especially someone such as yourself.

I just think if Hijinx wants to talk shit, he needs something to back it up with, that's all. He did not simply ask anyone to give it a go at the strip, and if he did, it would have resulted in a much more civil conversation. Instead, he's been prodding like a child, seemingly at anyone who runs an X37 and/or does business with Adam. If you don't see that, I don't know what to tell you. All I stated was how pointless it is comparing ETs to gauge how much a certain turbo setup gains, given that there are so many other variables coming into play.

I don't doubt that there are plenty of FiST owners who want to give 1/4 mile racing a shot. It's fun, and it's the cheapest form of racing. At the end of the day, anyone can do whatever they want with their cars, and how fast you want to go will simply boil down to how much money you want to spend. Whether you put that money into a Fiesta, a Mustang, a Corvette, a Lambo...it's whatever floats your boat and that's the beauty of modifying cars to your liking.

I originally started this thread to make people aware of another option that may appeal to those that don't want to spend $4000, or nearly 1/5 the value of this car, on a DHM quickspool kit, or $1800 on a POS ATP kit. And I think it's a fantastic option which fits the bill for that purpose. Personally, I bought this car so I could get out of payments on a 600rwhp N/A C6 Z06 that I never got to enjoy, because "enjoying" that car on the street could result in the end of my career, so I wanted something cheaper, but still fun and not as crazy. Not to mention the cost of tires, brakes, etc if I decided to race that car in any way. The Fiesta with the X37 suits my needs perfectly. But the fact that some people in this community feel the need to refer to the setup as "mediocre" because I don't care to spend a ton of money on a Fiesta is both sad and disappointing. Now hopefully this thread can get back on topic...
