A new item soon to be available from Seibon Carbon.
Sorry I don't have the weights or differences yet.
These will come as soon as I get the install complete.
However the list price will be approximately $800.00.

Will Seibon be doing our wing in carbon?
I provided an OE wing for them to mold from.
The look/style has not yet been determined but is now being discussed.

Many like something similar to the new Focus RS wing.
Your tasteful suggestions are welcome.

Something along the lines of the RS wing would be nice, especially if there was more than a cosmetic element to it.
Not sure if I would pop for a Carbon Wing just to replace the stock wing. A little too "rice" for me....

Glad to see you finally posted it...Congrats!

I'm eager to see what the new CF spoiler looks like from Seibon...hopefully similar to the new Focus RS design...

I don't know if I would want to make the weight bias in these cars any worse than it already is. Would definitely need some weight reduction up front to offset this.

Any possibility of getting a CF moon roof glass replacement? I like having the port, but it's a bit heavy. Swapping in a CF panel for the glass would allow some functionality while reducing weight on the top of the car.

The weight of the Seibon CF Hatch is approximately 11 lbs.

@ sikedsyko, others as have I, removed the spare, jack, etc., almost 40 lbs., only to find the car handles/reacts better.
Maybe you should try this.

I take it that is without glass?
Yes, and without wiper motor, latch, wing, or anything else.
I hope to get the weight of the OE hatch in the same condition on Monday.
Then we will have the total amount of weight saved.

Possible for them to make the hatch without the hole for the rear wiper? I figure if you are going to spend that much for weight saving might as well get rid of all you can.

I was going to weigh the wiper motor as well so you can make that choice.
I wouldn't think another hatch would be made just for that so you would need to just plug it.
Besides most of the hole that is seen is in the plastic trim/handle and that is reused from your OE hatch and not supplied by Seibon.
This is the trim/handle that holds the hatch release button as well as the license lights.
Others have told me that this trim/handle is available online (I don't know) without the hole and would cover the hole in the door.

Very cool:)

Not likely what I would buy as to light in the rear of the car as it is but I would love to see it without the wiper as I never use them either so if I bought one I would want it deleted.

IDEA: no hole in the design, those wanting a wiper can just drill it if needed:)

----------------

WING! Make it like the RS which is functional and I will buy one so I do not have to build my own:)

unlike the stock wing, risers, lips, etc.....

...not likely I can use one as taken so much weight off the back as it is the car is unbalanced so doing all I can up front.
Weld in a 4-point cage (roll bar with struts and braces). That'll add a little weight back.

As for wings, I like this one: http://www.fiestast.net/threads/fiesta-r5-carbon-spoiler-and-carbon-wrapped-pieces.1995/

It's very close (if not the same physical design) to what is used by Team O'Neil on at least one of its rally Fiesta STs. It's very stoutly secured to welded on brackets. It does require switching to the stock Fiesta spoiler in order to attach correctly. However, I suspect doing something like the Focus RS wing would require removal of the stock Fiesta ST spoiler anyway.

Thanks, I edited the thread as what you quoted was not supposed to be left in.....oops!

If not for two big doggies in the back when on the road I would of at least built a good roll bar by now but it is not going to work out so well. I am still considering different ways I could do it that worked for our needs.

I have seen that wing, I offered to buy it from him but he seems to have sold the car with the wing on it.

I have new take off black ST wing I bought to look at cutting out the middle and adding uprights and a real wing but the size would be quite small, perhaps no bigger than the RS element but at least I would not have to built it if they make an RS knockoff, or better;)

If I could find a wing with a really long cord length and short enough to fit into the width I could make between the stock wing ends.....

Thanks:)

I take it this is a CF skin with metal substructure?

If 11lbs is the CF bare hatch what does the stock bare hatch weight?
