The splitter looks nice but for $300, steep considering it's not painted or anything
They had/have a sale going. About 250 shipped for the splitter. Fits great and looks really good.... And of course I was looking for another reason to remove the front bumper.... again! I've had the bumper off this car 4 times now. Doesn't take long anymore.
I wouldn't want it painted. It'll just stone chip quickly. Looks good as is and later I'll probably plastidip it and just freshen it up occasionally.
I was able to use a threaded rod from Lowes to cut down into the right length and then I doubled up nuts on it for stops to tighten down things where the needed to be. I used thread locker as well. The threaded rod comes in 1 ft and 3 ft lengths. Buy the 3 ft length and cut it down with a dremel to the appropriate length. The rod is about $1.40 and I'd suggest nuts with nylon inserts so they won't move and you won't need to bother with thread locker. Get a couple washers as well. Black hardware would be nice, but not readily available most likely. You can shoot it real quick with paint if wanted. I'm going to just slip some black tubing or something over the threaded rod when I find the right size and it'll be finished.
The below pic is the top of the rod where the radiator top support arm comes down and it connects to the dhm bar's provided tab.
Above pic is the underside of the splitter.
