New Big Brake (Rotor) Kit Option

Looks like there is a dually rear wheel option for Transit. Rear discs definitely 280 mm diameter, solid, thickness and hub match ours, but they appear to be 108 mm 5 bolt circle, not 4 bolts. Stop tech has sport versions with grooves etc. Maybe Sico just had a batch run with 4 bolts. Considering a FoMoCo set of brackets, rotors and dust plates might run under $200, an extra $300 for 4 bolt rather than 5 seems a little high.

That dually is the full size transit, RWD. The transit connect is the smaller one, FWD. We just need to check if this one fits and clears the 280 mm discs. You can still get Focus SVT 280 mm rotors from NAPA cheap...

You guys are really going to like the Chinese rotors that Sico supplies.

Its only been what, 8 months since you announced the new rear big brake option that has still not appeared on the market? Imagined Chinese rotors are consistent with BT/LD.

No sour grapes here, but why is it taking so long? This is potentially the best dollar for dollar brake upgrade for most of us and it still hasn't come to market. I know I just got my car but I've had my car on order from about this announcement. Is there a manufacturing issue? I'd love to buy this guys kit and support US outfits, definitely. However, since it's taking so long to lift off, what's the likelihood that wear parts such as new rotors will be available in the future?

The transit connect has 320mm front rotors too... I think it's time to go test drive one and do some test fitting...

It would be awesome if there was something in fords inventory that would allow this to come together... But for the economic minded, a front bracket and rotor option is needed too. I don't want to pay 1000 for willwood fronts

Just to be clear.
I have nothing to do with the manufacturing process of Lapp Racing.
I only collaborated on the build and did the testing.
And to that end they have been well tested.
If it was up to me the kits would be available but I am not the one putting up the money.

I, like you was told that this product would be available.
I also know that there have been some family problems that have slowed things down.
Recently they have been moving into a new facility to provide more space.

Sense returning from SEMA this week, this project has been moving forward.
However I personally still don't know when it will be available.
My only thought would be your continued emails to Lapp Racing showing your interest may help.

I searched Ford parts diagrams for Transit Connect and compared with Fist. Rear caliper bracket from Connect looks very close to ours, front looks different.

I have a friendly Fost owner in local Ford parts dept, will ask him Monday if he knows how to figure out what parts might swap. Dusty makes a good point about rear rotors still available from SVT Focus that fit our hubs.

It would be brilliant if we could upsize front and rear rotors with Ford parts. Surely there is a vendor who could assemble these parts into a package. Sico obviously has the lead in UK, but good old USA should catch up and pass (outbrake at the next turn).

There is a cross-model parts # reference guide called Hollanders, the 2015 edition costs $675. Best information I can find suggests the answers to both front and rear brake Ford Fiesta vs other Ford models compatibility should be in there. Its probably the auto salvage bible, but I cannot fork over the price. Anyone have access to one?

I almost want to bite the bullet and purchase a pair of #2B511 caliper brackets to see if they fit. If they do, I'll get some custom 2 piece rotors made from HHC Brakes in Taiwan.

I couldn't get a hold of the brackets in Macau for a reasonable cost. I ended up getting custom brackets made along with custom 2 piece rotors. I'll post pictures and info when they arrive

Bump. Surely someone knows how to find the OEM Ford brackets that enable mounting OEM 280 mm rear rotors with stock calipers for our cars. If the Sico guys can figure it out so can we.

I hope someone figures this out too. I caved in and had custom floating 2 piece rotors and brackets made for the rear

That might be the better solution, how much weight did 2 piece rotors save? I would go that way if cost is reasonable.

This part is now obsolete and no longer available from Ford in the US.
There was still a supply of these in the UK however they are also no more.
It may be that Sico bought up the remaining supply.

I have been unsuccessful in getting Lapp Racing to continue this project.
We did draw up the plans and made prototypes for the rear brackets as well.

I will continue to pursue this.
Maybe I can get the parts from him and have them made.

The rear rotors were around $500. I was told they are pretty light for the size, I have to see when they arrive. The company that made it supplies rotors to companies like AP for their kits not made in the UK
