I ended up buying a used Cobb intercooler on a deal I couldn't pass up. I don't have an Accessport yet, and probably won't get one till a couple of months, can I run the intercooler on the stock tune?

I know it won't make a power difference at all, just wondering if it the cooler air will mess with the tune.

No you'll be fine.

I'm on a stock tune and my MAP intercooler raised my whp from 181 to 191 on the same dyno despite even hotter ambient temps than when I went the first time.

I chose the DHM race intercooler and crash bar. Well worth the wait!

Does biggest size really translate to best performance?
No but size definitely helps the cooling efficiency. The best intercooler will be the one that balances max cooling efficiency with max mass flow rate. For our tiny turbos the flow rate is more important but the difference between the MAF of aftermarket intercoolers is pretty marginal (+/- 3 lb/min)

Okay that's what I was assuming just wanted to make sure.

Which of these require cutting? cp-e? and mishimoto j-line?

Deporacing seems like quite a good choice but the website looks a little unprofessional which worries me.

its crazy how long some people have been waiting for these consider you can get and MTC (essentially the same exact unit) for basically the same price delivered to the US in 2 days.

here you go, its $320 shipped today (prices change slightly each day with exchange rates, I think I paid $340 a few months ago), I ordered mine on a thursday and it came the next monday so only 2 business days from the UK. Same core as the depo/cobb/airtec, a lot of peope running these without any issues. I had a Depo IC on my FoST and was planning on getting one for my FiST but no way I was waiting this long for the same thing.

Everything I've read on the MTC was really good. Works just as well as all the other intercoolers listed above only thing I heard was the some of the welds weren't as pretty but they are just as strong

I'll have to check out the MTC then. Wasn't aware either product was MIC but it explains a lot of the pricing.

Maybe I'll have to look at a similar size one that's made in America - I've looked at Cobb and I'm not sure that that's going to do it for me.

Broke down and ordered the MTC Sunday night. It arrived today so I missed out on this, but the MTC and Depo are pretty similar.

Kudos to those who waited. I'll be ordering a DP from Depo someday!!
