Here a few pics. I used a 1" rubber chair foot to plug the intake and a 1-1/4" as my symposer delete. 1" clamp on K&N for the intake side and a 3/4" stem type with a a piece of 3/4 hose I had laying around for the PCV side. Its the 3/4" I would like to do away with for the sleeker cap breather. 3/4" vacuum plug stretched of the intake manifold port.

A chair foot ha! For areas in vacuum it'll do the job but that symposer delete would be something that might let go with a bang.

You would be suprised at the construction of those feet. It was a very tight squeeze to get it on and there is a clamp holding it in place as well. The feet are about 1/4" thick and seem more robust them some of the other hoses in place in the car. It has seen 24psi so far and now problems.

I'm also curious does your engine bay stink when the car is on?

If you look at my Build thread, there is a link to my occ/ air oil separator setup. I'm using a moroso catch can, but you could use what you like.

Is that inline with the PCV plumbing? Or something else? Sorry, not especially technical, just want to take advantage of some the knowledge here for keeping my occasional track days as uneventful as possible and car running smoothly for as long as possible.

I was thinking about trying a silicone cap but changed my mind. It's a judgement call obviously. Not saying it wont work just wouldnt want to have it let go at a bad time is all.

Okay, so I did about 30 miles of mixed driving with a couple of WOT pulls. No issues as far as performance and no residue from oil in the engine bay. The top of the valve, under the filter is dry. This is with all PCV hoses connected. Now, I would think that you may see more oil misting if you plug the driver's side PCV hose because the crank case ventilation has to go somewhere, in which then...most of it would go through the oil cap filter. I did notice at idle that there is a slight amount of airflow coming out of the cap filter...it is not pulling air in at idle. Which is what it's supposed to do with the valve and all. Other than that, the engine is a little louder ( valve train noise coming out of the filter) and there is a faint smell of oil in the engine bay. I'm still on the fence on whether I will keep this on or put the oil cap back on. I did want to test this, though I'm not really sure what I expected from it....nothing really. At least it's being tested for the community.

Yep, it is in line with the PCV plumbing.

You are right but I couldn't find a silicone cap that large, not even a vacuum plug.

Keep on eye on your catch can with the breather in place and see if the oil colleccted is less.

I ordered the breather but then decided to cancel the order do to seeing all the oil pooling issues over on the FoST. Stratified stated they are not seeing any excessive blowby on the 2.0 even at 28+psi.

I'm just curious to see how this actually works and said "what the hell" and ordered it anyways...LOL!

After reading through that entire thread (a few times) the majority of folks on the FoST forum seemed to have no problem with the breather cap with the exception of just a few who repeatedly complained about an issue with seepage which made it appear as if the problem was widespread...Also sounds like during the early product release there may have been some defective caps released....

Also what I found interesting is a few with OCC's installed reported seeing a noticeably less amount of oil accumulation in their OCC's after installation of the breather cap which kind of made sense to me...And its still highly recommended to use this breather cap along with an OCC installed in the PCV line...

Seeing that a few of us here have now ordered one we'll certaintly be able to evaluate how well this performs on the FiST and report back results...So far it sounds as if JPGC's is working out very well for him.....

For those of you who are getting these...when you first install it, the little ball inside the valve is dry and will rattle for a few minutes until it gets a little oil on it. I though it was valve train noise at first, but it went away when the valve ball got saturated in oil.

I did get rid of both hoses actually and have noticed no ill effects aside from a slide odour at idle and my IAT is consistently lower. My breather should be here in the next day or two, says its in Vancouver now.

There are 3 hoses did you remove all 3 or drivers side and middle

4 days so far with mine..all types of driving and roughly 250 miles. No oily residue, oil pooling, etc.
