Hello everyone,
After seeing a few write ups on DIY air/ oil separators, I decided to also do my own. I have previously used Moroso air/ oil separators so I wanted to do the same with the FiST. Since Moroso doesn't make a kit specifically for the FiST, I browsed their site for a kit that was close to what ours would need to be to work. I found the Moroso 85604 Air and Oil Separator for Ford Roush Mustang. Then went the Amazon and ordered it for $135.95. Yes, more expensive than the Home Depot separator, but I like the Moroso. I also felt the the filter on the Home Depot was a little to restrictive. So on with the install....

-A picture of the Kit out of the box as received.

-I took the bracket and lined it up in the mounting spot that I wanted to use, using passenger side inside strut bolt as the attaching point. Once I did this, I decided where I wanted to cut and drill the bracket.

-I made the cuts on the bracket and drilled the holes that I need. The bolt, washer and nut didn't come with the kit, but I had them in my hardware drawer of my toolbox.

-Mounted the bracket into place to make sure it fits.

-Then I tested the the entire assembly to make sure everything fit, leaving the bolts loose so I could adjust it. Once I had it situated the way I wanted it, I tightened everything down.

-I had to get extra 1/2 hose and an extra 90 degree bend from O'Reillys to finish up. Once I got those, I measured the hose to route it the same as stock. I used the factory connectors with the new hose, so you may want to buy an extra factory hose if you plan to go back to stock.

-Once I had the hoses route and installed, I had to trim the cover to make sure that it fit the way I wanted. You don't have to do this, but I did.

All in all, a fairly easy job...roughly 1.5 hours taking my time. I think it looks clean and I will probably give it a few hundred miles to see what it collects.

I like it. I just blocked mine off. LOL VTA
I considered blocking it of as well and adding the lil filters but decided to stick with a separator. The filters and block off is definitely the easiest way.

DEF. I just ran a line to the catch can with a filter then blocked off the port on the IM.

Update: just checked my moroso catch can after 1500 miles and it caught a little over half an ounce.

It is noticeable, though not as bad as my 2011 Mustang GT. The .5 ounce lets me know that It will be fine to dump the oil separator once or twice between oil changes.

I wonder if this can is smaller than the one I have in my garage waiting for an install... Looks to be.

Once I had the Moroso can in my hand I was satisfied with the purchase - certainly a quality product that's worth the price of admission.

It gets sucked into the intake manifold vacuum through the PCV and is thereby burned along with the fuel charge.

Yep, very tight fit but will work. Otherwise you would have to use an adapter.

I currently use a bunch of adaptors and it looks a little ugly. Since my can cracked though i have nothing.
Boomba Racing any word on an OCC for us?

Soon! Its taken longer than we have expected but we want it to be truly "plug and play".
